Camping at Presqu'ile Provincial Park 2005

In July of 2005, the Mittons, Hildebrandts, Cooks and Hamiltons enjoyed a wonderful time at Presqu'ile. What a great place to bicycle! An 8 km dedicated bicycle trail winds its way around the park. The best part is that it is level! There are 3 sandy beaches (very much like Sauble Beach). The water was sure refreshing with the warm weather we enjoyed. As well, folks can also swim safely along any of the shores. The bird life is a sure highlight especially in the spring and fall during migration! Apparently 329 different bird species have been sighted in this park. We saw our first "Great Crested Flycatcher".
Re camping there are 8 different camping areas at Presqu'ile. Only 2 have electrical hookups - Pines and High Bluff. Of these two, the Pines is the better area - lovely tall trees, although not too private sites. We were in site #112. This was a good site although our neighbor to the rear was quite close. Many of the sites were big enough to accommodate Hoh's unit - 102 (huge, beside empty field), 111, 113, 114, 117 (huge, open, grassy with tall trees), 120, 122 (huge, some big trees, more open than 117), 124 (premium site, huge, view of lake, grassy), 123 (premium site, huge, more big trees, grassy, view of lake), 121 (premium site, huge, big trees). Ok sites - 101, 104, 110, 107, 109, 112, 115 (dog leg shape- nice, very private, open field at back), 119 (nice, well treed).
Poorer sites - 116, 118, 103 (lower,sunny and open)
All in all, I would recommend revisiting this park. 2 and 1/2 hours travelling time from Puslinch.
